Halloween 1978 was the first horror film I ever saw when I was six years old, but when I was eleven I began obsessing over Scream.
Scream: A year after the murder of her mother, a teenage girl is terrorized by a new killer, who targets the girl and her friends by using horror films as part of a deadly game.
I only had fond memories of me watching Scream over and over again. The film starts of with a bang by having Drew Barrymore play the first victim in a very thought out introduction to the killer, Ghostface. Scream is filled with humor and great characters, who do not feel annoying.
The death scenes in Scream are very creative, my favorite is the one involving the garage door. The phone calls are intriguing and clever and the ending was very unexpected for me when I viewed this for the first time. The Ghostface mask is simple yet genious at the same time. This is one of my favorite slasherfilms and Scream helped revive the slasher subgenre when it came in 1996.
