I don’t even know how many times I have seen The Texas Chainsaw Massacre from 1974, but I do remember the first time. I was 13 years old, standing in a film store, choosing what to buy. I saw a very special edition of this movie and I got very intrigued. I bought it and watched it the same day. Everything about the film excited me, the cinematography, Leatherface, the killings and the atmosphere, I knew I had just vitnessed something special.
I was hooked on this film and had to show it to my mom and friends. The scene that has always been my favorite, was when Teri McMinn’s character was strung up on that meat hook and she had to watch her friends being dismembered by Leatherface. That scene changed something in me. Friends thought that I was insane for loving such a movie so much and were disgusted when I show them my favorite scene, but friends come and go, but movies are forever right?
Later I bought another edition of this film and I still love this film as much as I did the first time I saw it. I also got an autograph from Gunnar Hansen at a Sci-Fi Convention in Stockholm a few years ago.
