Blair Witch (2016)

blair1.pngI was invited to a screening today of the new Blair Witch movie and the event was held by Monsters of Film festival, a horror film festival in Stockholm. I have to admit that I did enjoy this one.

Blair WitchAfter discovering a video showing what he believes to be his vanished sister Heather, James and a group of friends head to the forest believed to be inhabited by the Blair Witch.

It might have began slowly, but it never got boring at all and when the action began it poured. It had a few creepy moments especially towards the end, but it also had some well put comedy in it as well.

I do respect what the first Blair Witch film did for the found footage subgenre, but I do enjoy this one better because of the pace and a few very effective scenes. I would have like to see the use of the drone a bit more to get a few more cool and different angles, but I do recommend watching this one, in a dark room, all alone.

Grading: 7.5 out of 10.
