To create a really good modern slasher you have to put a spin to it and really create something original, because you can not just relay on the few things that made slasher films good back in the 80’s. Most Likely to Die had a good concept, but failed to stand out.
Most Likely to Die: A group of former classmates gather for a pre-party at one of their homes the night before their 10-year high school reunion, and one by one, they are brutally slain in a manner befitting each’s senior yearbook superlative.
Slasher movies are all about the graphic kills and the killers backstory, but the kills in this one were creative, but not creative enough to make me go wow!
I have to give credit to one scene that was particularly gory and good though. I did like the use of the graduation hat as a weapon, but the characters were not interesting enough and Most Likely To Die does not stand out amongst other modern slashers.
The title is catchy, but the ending did not impress me.
Grading: 4 out of 10.
