We are almost through all of Dario Argento’s movies and Giallo is a step back from Mother of tears.
Giallo: In Italy, a woman fears her sister may have been kidnapped. Inspector Enzo Avolfi fears it’s worse. They team up to rescue her from a sadistic killer known only as Yellow.
The story was alright, but I was expecting a better ending to a pretty interesting story. Adrien Brody felt a bit misplaced in this film, but I did like Elsa Pataky. I did like the gore scenes, but there was not enough gore.
I liked how some of the deathscenes were filmed, with the lighting, camera angles etc, but Giallo could have been so much better. Dario Argento could have gone back to his roots and to when he mastered the Giallo genre, but the story was interesting enough to sit through.
Grading: 5.5 out of 10.
