The Card Player could have been really cool, but instead ended up being mediocre.
The Card Player: A Rome policewoman teams up with a British Interpol agent to find a crafty serial killer whom plays a taunting game of cat-and-mouse with the police by abducting and killing young women and showing it over an Internet web cam.
I do like the idea of having the killings shown over a web cam, because it does make the movie a lot more intense, but some scenes feels kind of sloppy and not thought through.
I did like the death scenes and I did like the plot for most of the time, but The Card Player is not on the same level as Argento’s earlier work and it is such a shame when the idea is really good.
